Pretty Damn Good Tacos from Taquería Tapatía #2, Santa Ana, CA

Going on a tip from local food blogger, Gustavo Arellano, I decided to check out a certain taquería which he proclaims to be his "favorite taquería in Orange County." Coming from a native Mexican with intimate knowledge of the local eateries, this was definitely a lofty claim - and a valid one.

100_0679 The pictures on this posting showcase the pollo/chicken and carnitas/pork tacos that I ordered earlier today. Let me make this short: what made them outstanding was the tenderness of the meat, the flavoring in the marinade, the freshly made tortillas, the grilled onions and (of course) the price!  At $1.00 (including tax) they are by far the best value you can get behind the Orange Curtain.

I'll have to agree with Arellano on this one: this too has to be one of my favorite taquerías (if not THEE favorite) in The OC as well. So either brush up on your Spanish and/or sharpen your pointing skills and be prepared for something cheaper & superior than anything they’re shitting out of fast food restaurants nowadays.
