ATTN DINERS: Watch Out For Exploding Ketchup
According to the Murfreesboro Post, a bottle of ketchup exploded all over diner James Brewer while he and his wife were eating at a Tennesee restaurant, American Waffle. Apparently, Brewer merely reached for the ketchup, opened it and it spread to his face, hands and clothes.
Murfreesboro Police said someone could have added a chemical agent to the ketchup and closed the bottle, causing the gas to build up and explode.
Most likely that chemical agent was baking soda, as shown in the video above.
From now on I'm opening ketchup bottles with the cap covered with a napkin!!
