Amazing $2 Tacos at El Toro Carniceria, Santa Ana, CA

100_0622

Here’s something I don’t understand: why are there Taco Bell restaurants in the Mexican dominated City of Santa Ana, CA?  Here in Southern California, we’re fortunate to have some of the best tacos available this side of the border … even more so in the city dead center of OC.  So why oh WHY would someone living in this ciudad choose a fast food eatery over the GINORmous and delicious $2 tacos at El Toro Carniceria?

100_0619 To give you perspective on the size of these handheld meals, I placed a dollar bill in between chicken (left) and pork (right) tacos.  I read somewhere that they pack in about a half a pound of meat in each taco and it actually might be true.  They’re HUGE!!

But, quantity aside, the quality is also just as remarkable.  Both the carnitas and the chicken meat were moist, crispy and well seasoned.  There’s probably more flavor in the two tacos I had than the entire Taco Bell menu put together.

So, to the people of Santa Ana I ask ….. “¿Por qué comer a Taco Bell?
